why i built it
I first imagined a Clippy-like assistant powered by AI. I left the early Rust version when it became difficult, then returned to it for an OpenAI hackathon that allowed continuing an existing project as long as the main work happened during the event. I used the hackathon to build a basic implementation, though it is still unfinished.
what broke
Getting Moondream to install and run locally, and managing the chat and input windows, were the hardest parts. I was also new to Rust, which slowed the work.
